Inspired by the childhood game of "Telephone," artists engage in a continuous exchange of short videos, each responding to the previous work within a week. This process has created a growing collection of over 200 works by an international group of artists.

5th at Brattle Theatre (40 Brattle St, Cambridge, MA). This program features 17 short films that explore themes of identity, transformation, and resistance. Through a variety of styles—ranging from whimsical adventures to psychological explorations—these films provide a rich, thought-provoking commentary on personal and political issues in today’s world. Each film provides a distinctive lens on identity, existence, and artistic expression, offering an enriching and diverse viewing experience. Gina Kamentsky’s Pinocchio in 70mm (US, 3:12): A poignant reimagining of Pinocchio's desire to transcend his wooden origins. Don’t Fall From Grace (Carley Byers, US, 10:52): Set in 1954, a young woman trapped in a trance faces her mother’s desperate attempts to save her. Eternal Depth (Onyou Oh, Republic of Korea, 7:40): A poetic meditation on the sea, life, and eternity. Cat Cow Meow (Lady Beaver, US, 2:39): An adventurous tale of a cat and cow exploring Berlin and finding unexpected joy. Happy Birthday to Us! (Tamara Tasic, Serbia, 19:06): A story of two friends whose bond is tested by the arrival of a new love interest. Chora (Ao Wei, UK, 8:05): An exploration of a pre-linguistic, maternal world symbolizing the female reproductive system. I'm Sorry I'm Late (Sharon Mooney, US, 7:22): A journey through psychological stress and internal conflict, punctuated by fragmented media clips. Gab (Hogan Seidel, US, 3:14): A visual celebration of queer ecology, blending nature with intricate film techniques. Object(s) of Desire (Liberty Antonia Sadler, UK, 4:05): A candid, celebratory film about body positivity and self-acceptance. The Looking Game (Ann Upton, Ireland, 7:02): An experimental animated piece questioning the nature of connection and audience interaction. The Real American Dream (Rita Damiron, Isabella Breton, US, 1:29): A touching conversation between two sisters reflecting on personal dreams and distance. Tehran Is Ours... (Hamideh Azimi, US, 6:06): A politically charged narrative about protest and resistance in the streets of Tehran. The Streetlight (Sophia Parella, US, 6:48): A man’s existential journey to help a talking streetlight find its purpose. Reversal (Diane Nerwen, US, 6:34): A collage reflecting on the implications of the Roe v. Wade decision in today’s context. Not A Body (Cassandra Paige, Canada, 3:49): A meditation on the limitations and transience of the human body. Marrow of my Bones (Karly McCloskey, Canada, 2:11): An experimental exploration of post- humanism and queerness through striking visual and sound design.
