Loving Too Much, Too Less - Carolina Romillo
"Loving too much, too less" is a visual poem that features a dancer who just got out of a failed relatonship. During the duel, he remembers and idealizes his past, trying to understand and manage his emotions, seeking some kind of satisfaction that could fill a great internal void. But nothing seems to satisfy. An ode to love, excesses and desperation to find something real, a right way to love.
Carolina Romillo Marín (she/her) is a Cuban-Spanish visual artist that works between film, photography and video installation. She holds a Bachelor in Film and TV at Blanquerna Comunicació (Universitat Ramon Llull) in Barcelona. After graduating and a short time in the production field, she quickly became interested in directing creative documentaries and fiction.
Her main research focuses on alchemical topics such as nature, energies, mysticism, symbology, the cosmos and identity. The image of the self, humanity, its foundations and its deepest ethical questions. What is not seen with the eyes, but can be felt. That space where imagination and reality meet, that's where my art lives.
Currently based in Berlin where she is exploring and experimenting with the analog format, using movement as a language and a catalyst element to articulate her message.
Winner of the “Best Foreing New Director“ award at the Winchester Film Festival 2018 with her film “A different Afternoon“ and “Best Dance Film“ at the Mits Barcelona 2020 with “Inside/Outside“.
