The BEST OF SHORTS program brings together some of our favorite shorts from 2025. With four unique programs (a total of 36 shorts), two programs screening on May 6 at The Brattle in Cambridge, and two programs screening on May 7 at Il Kino in Berlin.

An international and local selection of shorts: experimental animations, tender dramas, playful absurdity, intimate suspense, powerful DIY shorts, surreal comedy, and documentaries that reclaim marginalized stories.

The films move through topics such as generational trauma from colonialism, the ongoing genocide, censorship and the dangers of AI, while also exploring hope, queer joy, self-acceptance, intimacy, community, bodily autonomy and liberation across hybrid genres.

In a time like now, these stories give us the energy to continue with strength, hope, and determination. We look forward to screening these films and coming together to reflect and connect as a community.
