Amplifying Diverse Voices in Short Films, Embracing DIY Artistry Worldwide
GRRL HAUS CINEMA is an ongoing program of short films and video art made by women, non-binary, trans and genderqueer artists. A mix of local, national, and international artists present work from a variety of disciplines: narrative, documentary, experimental, and conceptual. Thank you, Mass Cultural Council, for your support! We’re excited to announce that GRRL HAUS has received a grant from the Mass Cultural Council! This is our first grant as a nonprofit, and we’ll be using it to fund a special event in 2025: NeuroCinema: A Celebration of Neurodiverse Artists.
NeuroCinema will spotlight the incredible creativity of artists with unique neurological pathways, including individuals with autism, ADHD, and other neurodiverse experiences. This grant reflects our dedication to inclusivity by amplifying the voices of these neurocomplex artists and celebrating their contributions to cinema. GRRL HAUS, known for screening short films by women, trans, and nonbinary artists with a focus on DIY and experimental filmmaking, is committed to providing a platform for emerging talents who often lack traditional funding. We highlight both local and international creators, ensuring at least 50% of our program features local talent. Through NeuroCinema, we’ll further explore the intersection of art and neuroscience, offering a unique perspective on creative expression. We can’t wait to share more details about this exciting event in the coming months! |
