House of doors
Deborah Ruffato
Belgium, 29:17, Documentary
Brussels, Last days of an old police station transformed into a social residency. Fascinated by the extinctions of those moments, I'm questioning the residents of this curious house. Behind those walls and doors, smiles and silences reveal me the story of a particular human experience.
Brussels based artist, I studied filmmaking at Institut des Arts de Diffusion from 2011 untill 2016. Since then I’ve been attracted by a hybrid and experimental cinema, creating encounters between forms.
My work focuses on the relationship between the obscure, the body and the productions of the unconscious. My films are spaces to welcome the stories that emerged from this relation. My previous works were interest in psychiatry, non-standard urban spaces such as squats, and the figure of the spectre.
